Achievements

Rispana and Bindal Riverfront Development is a multidimensional environmental improvement and urban rejuvenation project . It is one of the most innovative projects to make the city livable & sustainable. Rispana and Bindal have always been important to Dehradun. They serve  as a source for drinking water ,  a place for recreation ,gathering ,place for washing clothes for people living there on banks , and yet Rispana and Bindal were abused and neglected. Rispana and Bindal became a place to dump garbage , untreated sewage and nallas dumping untreated and dirty water to the river. Encroachments reduced rivers flood carrying capacity and thus some areas saw destruction due to the flood in the rivers. For above stated reasons the redevelopment of Rispana and Bindal riverfront was necessary so that the rivers and the environment can be brought back to it’s original shape and some open spaces can be created for public recreational activities.Apart from that people living there on the banks are being rehabilitated to houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna in Transport Nagar and Aamwala Tarla.

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna multipurpose shopping complex with facility of parking around 500 ECS was constructed.
